Hisaronu
Hisarönü is the place to go out in the Fethiye area in contrast to the quiet neighboring Ovacik. This town that comes alive in the evening hours is located on a high plateau of the Babadağ Mountains, enclosed by the high green mountains. Hisarönü is located on the Fethiye – Ölüdeniz main road. From Fethiye it is about a 10 minute drive.
The name Hisarönü means "front of the castle" and refers to the local ruin. Hisarönü has a lively center with many shops, restaurants and bars. Here you will also find the nightlife that is legendary in this region of Turkey and not too massive. The main street is always busy with tourists trying to haggle for local produce or enjoy Turkish or other cuisine in one of the many restaurants. In the evenings, the center of Hisarönü is car-free. For the children there is a Luna park with a large number of fairground attractions. On Mondays there is always a market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables and of course counterfeit clothing from well-known brands and souvenirs. Don't forget to haggle! Due to its location in the mountains, it is pleasant to stay in the evenings due to a cool breeze. Breathing in the healthy fresh mountain air will do many tourists good after an evening of partying.
Hisarönü is close to the popular Ölüdeniz, making the beach 10 minutes away by minibus or 5 minutes in your own car. Alternatively, you can go to Gemiler beach in Kayadorp. The area around Hisarönü is excellent for walking and the famous "Lycian Way", a walking route through Turkey, also passes Hisarönü.
