Saklikent National Park
Saklıkent National Park is a very beautiful nature reserve in the South West of Turkey about 40 km from Fethiye. Saklıkent is one of the deepest canyons in the world, it is 300 meters deep and 18 kilometers long. You can walk through the river here and walk along the rocks on the dried up pieces. Rub yourself with the mud lying there, it seems to be very good for your skin! Saklıkent can be visited all year round, only in winter the water is ice cold and the level is too high in some places to walk through. From May, most of the snow has melted and has found its way to the sea, causing the water level to drop again. Saklıkent means "hidden city" in Dutch. The rock formations you walk past are very impressive and a visit to Saklıkent is definitely recommended.
If you want to eat and drink something after swimming and walking, there are several restaurants where you can enjoy a cup of Turkish tea or coffee or, for the bigger appetite, freshly baked fish on the barbecue with, for example, a nice glass of rakı. There are several restaurants where you can relax on the waterfront. On site there is a swimming pool at 1 of the restaurants that you can use for free.
