Ovacık is located on the low slope of the Babadağ Mountains. The town lies together with Hisarönü in a large valley just above Ölüdeniz with the green impressive mountains in the background. The mountain road between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz passes Ovacık. From Fethiye it is about a 5 to 10 minute drive.

The valley is an ideal central location where everything around Fethiye can be reached within a short distance by Dolmus or by car. In one direction is Fethiye and in the other direction you drive via Hisarönü to Ölüdeniz. Ovacık itself has a small center with some small shops, restaurants and bars. It is a very relaxed and peaceful place, perfect for unwinding. For the vibrant life, there is the Hisarönü neighborhood, which has a larger center. Because Ovacık is located in the pine-covered mountains, there is a wonderfully fresh and healthy air, which is especially pleasant at night. Ovacık consists of several small hotels and detached villas. The beautiful mountain road to the top of Babadağ starts in Ovacık. In winter, this mountain is covered with snow. You can get almost to the top by car or else by cable car, whichever way you choose the view from the top is magnificent. There is a restaurant where you can eat or drink and admire a beautiful sunset.
